Upcoming Roadtrip

Here is my idea for our route for the upcoming roadtrip. The purpose is to maximize our driving experience across this great state of Texas. The route generally covers the far west, the desert, the hill country, as well as the middle part. :P

To Albuquerque, NM:
We'll take the northbound route, which is CS-Waco-Amarillo-Albuquerque. Total mileage is around 800 miles. We can stop by the Cadillac ranch--that famous Route 66 attraction-- and some other places (sekalian streching gitu).

Back to CS:
We'll take the southbound route...Albuquerque, NM, Las Cruces, NM,-Marfa, TX-Austin-CS. Total ~1000 miles.
Marfa has a lot of neat installations of modern art and
architecture, which I really want to visit. :D

All route involve major highways. That should make it easier.

What do y'all think?

1. This is winter, northern route will take place where the snows fall. Make sure you check the weather to avoid being trap (done that) and be prepare for that.
2. Southern route, bring passport, if the police checked on you I got friends and brother who went through that.
3. Laptop, just to keep connect with the 'net.

1. Winter storm warning today in NM. Gosh, I hope it won't be next Tuesday when we start driving. Otherwise, we could take the southern route.

2. Sure, we will. We brought everything for the South Padre trip. They didn't check, though.

3. Wati was asking about GPS. The car rental doesn't have cars equipped with it. Laptop should be better, should find where the WIFIs are along the route...if I can borrow somebody's portable GPS...hmm...
